Recently, photos appeared on the Internet showing test tests of the hybrid version of the Carnival, which means that the cross-country vehicle with an electric motor could go on sale in a year.
Auto experts suggest that a new 1.6-liter turbocharged unit will appear under the hood of the Carnival, combined with an automatic transmission and an integrated 60 kW electric motor, a similar engine is installed on the hybrid version of the Kia Sorento, in total it produces 230 hp. There is also a more powerful installation in the line of crossover engines, with the possibility of recharging, however, it is doubtful that a rechargeable hybrid option will be provided for Carnival.
Today, a restyled version of the cross-van with 7 and 8-seat interior layout, intelligent security systems and two engine options is available in Russian dealerships - a 2.2-liter CRDI petrol (199 hp and 440 Nm of torque) and a diesel 3.5-liter V6 (249 hp and 332 Nm of torque). Both units are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Carnival's exterior features projector LED headlights, LED taillights, a tiger smile grille, exterior lighting, and a smart trunk release system.
For driving comfort, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel (which displays speed, warnings and navigator tips) is responsible, as well as a multimedia system with an 8-inch (in base) or 12.3-inch monitor and a 12-speaker Bose audio system ( starting from the Prestige configuration). The comfort of staying in the cabin is provided by atmospheric Mood lamp lighting, separate climate control for the driver and the passenger in front, a climate control system for second and third row passengers.
The seats are equipped with a relaxation mode with a retractable footrest and reclining backrest, while the front seats are equipped with heating and ventilation, and the driver's seat has a 10-way adjustment. Another comfort feature is the power double sunroof.
The options package includes a rain sensor, a quad-camera surround view system, front and rear parking sensors, and a separate camera for communicating with second and third row passengers. The Drive Wise Driver Assistance Package includes Blind Spot Assist, Side Collision Warning and Safe Exit with Door Lock. For the convenience of operating the car in winter, a remote engine start function from the key is available, and a wireless charger is also installed in the cabin.
The top-end Premium and Premium+ trim levels are complemented by leather-trimmed seats and the Kia Connect telematics system with the ability to remotely control the car from a mobile phone - starting the engine, adjusting climate control, opening and closing doors, etc.
